Hilton Head Fly Fishing Trip Specific Questions
What do I need to bring?
-You won't need much. A pair of sunglasses, sun screen, a rain jacket, any special drinks or food that I don't carry in the boat, and most importantly "a smile".
What do you provide?
-I provide all the equipment and tackle needed on our trip around the Hilton Head, Beaufort, and Savannah Area. A cooler with ice, water, and Sweet Water Beer. Lunch is provided on all full day trips.
Can I bring my own gear?
-Yes you are welcome to bring your own gear, but you might want to call me and make sure it is something we would use because some equipment might not be considered appropriate for our fishery.
Where do we meet?
-It depends. I trailer my boat to where ever you are, keeping in mind which areas are fishing better and wind conditions. Some boat ramps are better for different wind conditions. We usually find a mutually agreed upon ramp as we get closer to our trip date.
What Fly Gear Do you use?
-I am currently using a Gloomis NRX 8wt, 10wt, and 12wt fly rod. I use Nautilus Fly Reels, Cortland Fly line (Floating only), Cortland 9' tapered 20lb leaders. All my flies are custom tied for here in the Hilton Head Island, Beaufort, and Savannah area.
Can We Spin Fish?
-Yes, I do carry two spin rods in the boat with artificials. So everyone can catch fish even if they don't fly fish.
How do we pay for our Trip?
-I prefer cash and check, but can make other forms of payment work if you let me know before hand.
What other things are there to see?
- A lot. All kinds of fauna, turtles, dolphin, Manatees, jelly fish, rays, and many kinds of birds as they migrate or make the Hilton Head Island, Beaufort, and Savannah area their home. The Low Country is rich in history and I love talking about different areas as we fish or pass by them.
